Mental Health Coaching
Coaching can be a challenging and demanding job. You are trained in the best coaching methods, but not always in the best methods of developing the mental health and social emotional intelligence of your players.
The stress and pressure of coaching can cause coaches to experience old painful or difficult memories, emotions, beliefs, and thoughts from when they were younger, and this can trigger reactive responses from coaches toward their players’ effort, focus, attitude, and behavior.
Every challenging, painful, or difficult life experience provides the opportunity for learning, personal growth, healing, and empowerment. We all need support to learn and grow socially and emotionally and to build our mental health. I love supporting coaches in learning to see the opportunities and gold in their challenges and in “mining the gold” out of those challenges.
Every technique that I teach coaches is based on science and how the brain and nervous systems of athletes are positively affected by healthy interactions with their coaches ( interpersonal neurobiology).
Sometimes it is hard to know how to support your players when they are going through tough times and displaying behaviors that concern you. If you want support for yourself or your player, please click the link below.
