This training will be guide you in learning simple, quick ways to integrate, practice, and model the SEL skills taught in In Focus lessons while teaching academics and throughout the school day.
Doing the daily In Focus lessons is very important for developing social emotional intelligence, but integrating and practicing the daily SEL skills all day long during academics and throughout the school day can greatly enhance and speed up the development of this vital intelligence. Biography of the Teacher of this Course: Tom McSheehy taught elementary and middle school for 21 years and has been a licensed social worker / family therapist for 30 years. He has worked with SEL in schools for 40 years and has been an SEL presenter and coach for 27 years.
Tom has learned the critical factors necessary for SEL to succeed and flourish in a classroom, school, or school district. Besides a good SEL curriculum, the most important factor is ongoing support and training for teachers.
